We\u2019re pleased to announce an important update to the tenant application process on LettingaProperty.com. \ud83d\ude80 Built from landlord feedback, the new <\/span>Submit Application & Holding Deposit flow<\/b> gives landlords clearer control and a faster, more organised way to pre-screen applicants before moving to referencing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Importantly, we designed this feature update primarily for landlords; tenants also gain clearer steps and improved communications. Read on for how the new flow works, why it matters, and practical steps to get the most from it.<\/span><\/p>\n

What changed. In short, \u2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Previously, landlords invited tenants one at a time. However, if an application didn\u2019t meet expectations, they had to invite another tenant, making the process sequential.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new flow simplifies and speeds this up by letting landlords review multiple applications quickly and decide whom to progress before any holding deposit<\/a> is taken. In short, you can pre-screen more efficiently and make better decisions, faster.<\/span><\/p>\n

How the new Submit Application & Holding Deposit flow works. First, \u2026<\/b><\/h2>\n

Step 1 \u2014 Tenant submits an application<\/b><\/h4>\n

Tenants still start by submitting their online application with contact details, employment information and any supporting documents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 2 \u2014 Landlord reviews applications<\/b><\/h4>\n

Landlords receive the application and can review it. Crucially, you won\u2019t take any payment at this stage<\/span>. You can compare several applications side-by-side and decide which one best fits your criteria.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 3 \u2014 Landlord accepts an application<\/b><\/h4>\n

When you decide which applicant to proceed with, you accept their application via the platform.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 4 \u2014 Tenant pays the holding deposit<\/b><\/h4>\n

Once you accept an application, the tenant can pay the holding deposit<\/a>. This ensures the financial commitment comes after your approval, not before.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 5 \u2014 Application moves to referencing<\/b><\/h4>\n

Then, after the tenant pays the deposit, the application moves into Applications and we begin referencing (background and credit checks, references and right-to-rent checks).<\/span><\/p>\n
