Letting agents have watched their industry change in the last 20 years.
Shabir Osman, the new national acquisitions director for letting agent Spicerhaart Residential Lettings, stated that the sector has grown over that period of time.
Mr Osman – who has also previously worked at letting agent Martin & Co as operations director – predicted that the industry will grow even further in the next 5 years.
In an interview with Negotiator Magazine following his appointment at Spicerhaart Residential Lettings, he explained that this is because many people are choosing to rent rather than buy as a lifestyle choice.
“It’s an exciting time for the industry and we are keen to build on the Spicerhaart brand by growing it across the country,” he commented.
This comes after research from the Deposit Protection Service indicated that it only takes letting agents two weeks to find a tenant for 63 per cent of empty properties on average, compared to 38 per cent of landlords who manage the houses themselves.
