We are forever seeking to improve our services to letting agents, landlords and tenants and we are excited to announce the launch of Google Street View on lettingaproperty.com!
Traditionally, tenants have been able to view photos of a property and locate it on a 2D map:

Now, with the help of Google Street View, tenants are experiencing house hunting in a whole new dimension:

What is Google Street View?
Google Street View is a technology that provides panoramic views from various positions along many streets in the world. It was launched on May 25, 2007, originally only in several cities in the United States, and has since gradually expanded to include more cities and rural areas worldwide.
As of March 2010 Google has been adding 210,000 miles of UK roads which means that 96 per cent of the UK streets will be mapped.
Why are we introducing Google Street View?
It has to be said that Google’s Street View service has been somewhat of a success since its inception. 1 in 5 people use is to find their next home! 3 in 5 people use it to find their way and others use it to check out prospective holiday destinations. Google Maps (Street View’s parent service), has seen a 30% increase in usage since the Street View service was introduced.
Now as standard – every property advertised on lettingaproperty.com features a street view box located below the 2D map. We believe this is a fantastic tool for letting agents and landlords wanting to showcase their properties and the initial feedback from tenants has been very positive – in fact, we have already noticed that tenants are staying on the property pages up to twice as long!
